Universal is serving as the distributor for the film, which is currently in active development.
The studio has not yet given the movie a green light as typically that occurs once a final script, budget, and cast are determined.
‘A major factor is ultimately who will be cast’ as Madonna a source said.
Though if Garner accepts the role, that may speed things along.
Madonna was co-writing the film about her life with Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody, who has since departed the project. Film executive Amy Pascal will serve as the producer. She is pictured with the screenplay
